BA (Hons - AP), MA (Mindfulness Psychotherapy), Gestalt Psychotherapy, Couples & Family Counselling
I’ve been a psychotherapist for over 30 years, and as a student and trainer, I have always been drawn to core process.
The depth and breadth of core process gives a wider scope for understanding the expansive nature of our human beingness.
The approach includes western psychodynamics which acknowledge the power of the past in informing our present, but as a psychospiritual discipline, it is also aware of our interconnectedness with all life, and the experience of human consciousness beyond the ‘skin enclosed self’.
I find that core process speaks to us in our modern bubble; it encompasses the nature of individual trauma, and collective trauma – like the psychic impact of climate breakdown, and is also informed by how contemporary systems (like the government and our laws) affect marginalised groups and our culture as a whole.
When we work together, I’m interested in supporting your capacity to connect to your genuine self, working through and shedding the limiting beliefs we hold based on our history, past relationships and the conditioning of society.
As well as supporting individuals, I also work with families and couples. Core process is ideal for relational work, as it values and facilitates deep connection to yourself and others in your life.
I also work as a clinical supervisor and particularly enjoy working with newly qualified therapists and counsellors. I have worked with a number of voluntary sector organisations too, supervising staff teams and individuals.
I currently attend the Ridhwan school to enrich my practise with ongoing practices of embodiment and spiritual development. In the past, I have trained in Gestalt psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute in London; and completed training in systemic family therapy work with the CSI Institute as well as couples therapy training.
I have taught on a number of UKCP MA accredited trainings and am currently tutoring on the Advanced Diploma in Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy, at the Karuna Institute.
I'm a full member of the Association of Core Process Psychotherapists (ACPP) and a fully accredited member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) under the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy division. I'm fully insured and licensed to practice in the UK and worldwide.
